Episode 3 - "Morgan vs. Luffy. Who's this Beautiful Young Girl?"

Here's a re-watch I did today. Those were the good ol' days. Here's the episode where Zoro actually decided to join Luffy in his pirate crew.

So we find out that guns and bullets don't actually affect Luffy and where they finally explain how the devil fruits work.

Just look at Zoro's reaction when he first saw Luffy's skin.

Zoro questions Luffy about his proclamation on becoming the next Pirate King and askes if he actually knows what it means, and Luffy just gives the usual luffy-answer:

"The Pirate King is the Pirate King...what else could it mean?"

Oooh, he's really serious about it, 472 episodes later.:)
AAAAnnnd, there's that smile we love.

This is the episode where Zoro also reveals his fighting style. Santoryuu, which later Luffy uses as an insult in the Alabasta Arc (i still laugh out loud whenever I remember that scene).

Aww, Zoro, being a pirate is not really that bad at all. You're going to realize that later. :)

Now Luffy can't get the ropes loose. He even ended up tightening them. I've always wondered why he didn't just use Zoro's katana. LOL.

And here's the epicness that is Zoro and his Santoryuu. :)

Funny how the both of them are still chatting despite quite a number of Marines trying to kill them. Haha.

Yosh, they finally teamed up!

...and Coby ends up being a hostage. Coby has definitely come a long way since this episode.

...but they defeat Helmeppo and Morgan using their innate TEAM WORK.

Here's Zoro acknowledging Luffy as his captain. I just love the way he said it.

I really think Zoro should smile often.

You better believe him Zoro. Look at Thousand Sunny now. :)

Oops, there's that laugh again. Haha. I noticed he laughed less since Sanji joined the crew LOL. I love them both though. ♥

Yes, Zoro. You are going to. And you're NEVER going to regret it. :) Probably the best thing that ever happened to you.

Marines, saluteto pirates. LOL. Never thought you'd see the day huh?

Here's the last few scenes in caps. :) Luffy talking about his promise to Shanks.

"Luffy uses as an insult in the Alabasta Arc (i still laugh out loud whenever I remember that scene). "

totally don't remember that O_O

I love Zoro's smile so much. And yeah, I miss it a lot. He was so cheery- I don't think it was Sanji, I think it was probably Mihawk that made him get all intense.

This was the episode that pretty much got me into the show. And guh, I adore the Zoro+Luffy dynamic to bits. He commits himself 100% to having Luffy as captain, when other members treat Luffy I bit more goofily Zoro never does. He takes it really seriously and kfjghlkdfjglkdf. (of course you see the flipside of that in water7 but i loved him for that too, it gave him so much depth as a character)

It was the time when they were saying goodbye to Vivi and they all said they missed her. Try to youtube it. The SHs faces were all adorable in that scene.

"I love Zoro's smile so much. And yeah, I miss it a lot. He was so cheery- I don't think it was Sanji, I think it was probably Mihawk that made him get all intense."

Haha! I think so too. I meant that Sanji bit as a joke since I am such a fan of their bickering relationship but they still manage to pull off when circumstances require it (e.g. Davy Back Fight).

"He commits himself 100% to having Luffy as captain"

He doesss, he does! Especially that episode in Thriller Bark when he took all the pain from Luffy. :)

I got that it was a joke, it was just a plausible joke XD

Thriller Bark is the biggie but what I like about Zoro is that he backs him up constantly, not just in the big but in the small ways. The Skypiea Bar Fight, the Arabasta Saving Smoker bit... Oda makes it always be Zoro in those scenes for a reason. I don't think any of the other crewmembers have an equivalent "captain's orders" scene (whereas Zoro gets multiple)

In fact, while they might bicker, I'm trying to think of a single time Zoro disagreed with Luffy over a decision other than Usopp (which is another cool thing abotu this trait, that the Usopp thing is /that much more significant/ because it's Zoro protesting... I really feel as if Zoro was the only one who could have protested, in that situation, and Luffy would have had to go along)
